Introduction: IoT is an amazing modern-day technology that helps you to create a device by using both soft and hard skills. IoT devices also involves real-time monitoring strategies which are very helpful in modernday scenarios. I would like to share some insights on the project- manhole monitoring that uses IoT as its principle.

Project Overview: The project uses sensors and actuators to sense the surroundings and execute them in a programmed way. So, this project monitors the manhole as it senses the temperature, water level and pollution or smoke inside it. The programming is done on Arduino ide using C++. Users can monitor the manhole in real-time with hand-held devices by getting messages or notifications whenever there is a detection of threat.

Key Features:

-> Real-time monitoring: This feature enables the user to monitor the manhole all the time and get proper alerts on time to take a needful decision by allowing the user to avoid all the ill effects that will happen if the monitoring was not there. The user just has to log in to the software and that's it, he can see all the changes happening in the manhole.This also has a default (wired connection)buzzer option to alert people in nearby places.

->Ease of installation: Installing this system inside the manhole is simple and efficient. Once installed, it can be used efficiently but the proper service needs to be done as the standards for the temperature and float levels has to be changed for different climate conditions in the environment.

->Cost efficient: This system is cost-efficient and this feature allows it to be installed in several places and thus help prevent various kinds of accidents caused due to improper manhole monitoring.

->Cloud storage: The information sensed by the sensors is stored in the cloud and this feature allows the monitoring technique to be even more useful as this allows the information to travel places and be accessed by people with proper login credentials.

->Adaptability of the system: This system is adaptable as it can be installed in different places too to monitor different setups which require monitoring of float detection, temperature detection and smoke detection as well.

Conclusion : This system of manhole monitoring can bring significant changes in the field of manhole monitoring, encouraging more technical advancements in this field, by enabling real-time monitoring and notifications. This technology can help people enjoy an intelligent environment and make life more sustainable and convenient.
